“A great place for a group visit. Well located for DDay beaches and memorials. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Variety of room options from single to ‘dormitory’ which are fairly basic but perfectly adequate. All meals were good for both quality and quantity. The bar was well stocked. However the staff are fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. Friendly, helpful always on hand. Our experience with booking was very good.”

“Wow! What an amazing chateau for a school trip! There is more than enough space for our boys to play football, French cricket, and all sorts of’made up’ games. The accommodation for the staff and boys was very good. There are so many nearby places of interest, viz. Bayeaux (market and Bayeaux tapestry), Arromanches, the Normandy landing beaches, Overlord Museum, Pegasus Bridge, American Cemetry and many others where we paid our respects to the thousands of young men who lost their lives on the beaches and beyond in liberating France. Back at the chateau, Chef Thierry has to get a mention in this review for delicious meals throughout our five-day, four-night stay. His attention to detail in the presentation of the meals was commented upon by boys and staff alike. Nikita and all the other staff looked after the boys superbly. It was such a pleasure to be able to relax in the lounge after the boys had gone to bed. Thank you to all the staff at the Chateau du Baffy for the amazing manner in which you engaged with our boys and also us. You are a credit to the chateau and I wish you all the very best for the future. Good luck and do enjoy your breaks; you thoroughly deserve to be praised! Thank you!”

“I stayed with my 2 boys in August 2022. The building itself is beautiful and peaceful with lovely welcoming staff and plenty of choice for breakfast (As a coeliac, I was given lovely warm gluten free bread rolls each morning!) The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and we found the wifi worked pretty well in the room as well as the communal areas. Within the Chateau grounds, the children were able to play mini golf on a lovely little replica of Normandy golf course. There was also table tennis and a football court, with nets provided. Just outside the grounds there is a tiny village to explore with a small river and interesting church built hundreds of years ago. Further afield, we were able to visit the beach at Courseulles-sur-Mer, explore the D Day Landing beaches and see the Bayeux Tapestry. We easily drove to Mont St Michel for a full day trip too. Highly recommended to families during summer holidays!”

“I stayed here July 2022 with my young family and had a wonderful time. The location was absolutely perfect to check out all of the local historical and tourist sites. All the amazing things we did during our stay were all just a short drive away. There’s fantastic access to the D-day beach landing sites, other WW2 historical landmarks, museums, stunning towns, gorgeous beaches and even an outdoor swimming pool just a 15 minute drive away. The building is lovely and full of character and the staff were lovely and very accommodating. There is a lovely lounge area and outdoor seating area where we were able to relax in the evening and have a few drinks. There’s also good facilities for children including mini gold and a table tennis table on site. Rooms were clean and breakfast was great. The croissants were DELICIOUS! I’d definitely recommend to anybody visiting the area, we had an amazing trip.”
